My eldest started school today. I couldn’t bring myself to send her to school with store-bought bags, etc so took some time over the weekend to sew. Here are the results - an art smock made from an upcycled doona cover, a library bag and a school satchel refashioned from Edie’s kindy bag.
I have also had some time to list new stock on madeit.com.au/alipink - check it out!

This is another unfinished project that I have just completed - doll’s quilts for my little girls.
The fabric came from a dear friend whose parents owned a quilting shop. Her fabric boxes are full of wholesaler’s samples. Heaven to sift through! The backing fabric was on sale at S***light and the bias binding is commercially bought.
I machine-pieced the quilts then hand quilted them. I love hand sewing and it was so relaxing to stitch them in my spare moments. Doll’s quilts are the prefect sized project to practise my developing quilting skills. I am keen to get started on some bigger quilts now.

Happy New Year!
I have been working hard to complete my UFOs (un-finished objects) and bring to fruition all the ideas for projects that are floating around in my head. Today I finished sewing a quilt for my bed. It is the largest quilting project that I have attempted and I am delighted that it turned out as I imagined. I will put up some pictures next post as the light today is not photography-friendly.
Here is another little project that I made whilst Play School was on - cases for my sewing scissors and pinking shears. I used leftover denim from my satchel bags, some bias binding from my stash and vintage buttons. The pincushion was made by Bel of EmBelIsh. It was another one of my BrisStyle Indie Designer Market purchases.
Next on the list - refashioned clothes for the girls, a new bag and more quilts.
