Wishing you a crafty Christmas

christmas-tree-091MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Here is our Christmas tree.  It is a grevillea chosen by the girls and their grandma.  It will live happily in the garden once the festive season is finished.

The decorations are a combination of kindy craft and the work of some talented BrisStylettes.  The bauble-shaped decorations are actually gift tags by Hayley of REread.  The little yellow bird cages are by Christine of Little Diva Crafts and the babushka dolls (lavendar scented - yum!) are by Mel of Retro Bird.  My grandma found the knitted Christmas stockings.

I am looking forward to a restful Christmas break with lots of fun crafty projects for myself and the kids.  See you in 2010!

Holiday reading

My order arrived from Amazon this morning.  Only 1 week after I ordered it.  And on a Saturday!  Here’s what I will be reading over the Christmas break;

handmade-home creative-family

These lovely books are written by Amanda Blake Soule who, as well as being a mother of 4, leads a creative and eco-friendly lifestyle.  She describes herself on her blog, soulemama.com,  as  “a crafty mama of four. Her days are spent in her hometown of Portland, Maine plotting ways to avoid laundry, dishes and mopping in favor of knitting, sewing, baking, playing with her children, and visiting the beach.”  Something we can all aspire too I reckon.

Last minute Christmas presents?

Until 18th December I am offering $1 postage on all items in my etsy store.  To anywhere on the planet.  Including fabric.  Awesome!

And for those buyers in Australia, I am offering free postage within Australia on all items in my madeit store.  Hooray!

I have lots of stock left over from the BrisStyle market so the stores are full of lovely goodies. Just in time for Christmas ;-)  Here are some photos of my latest stock -

Goodies

Well, I had a fantastic day at the BrisStyle Indie Designers Market on Saturday.  Great sellers, great buyers and lots of sales.

The best thing about selling at a handmade market is the range of fabulous goodies.  I could have spent my earnings twice over buying up delights from all of the talented BrisStylettes.  Here are a few of the things I did treat myself to (click on the photos to link to the sellers’ stores).

A hat from The Seamstress and the Daughters.  Mine is in a different fabric but the style is identical.

Some tags from REread.  I am going to put them on our native Aussie Christmas tree.

And a couple of bird-in-a-cage  Christmas decorations from Little Diva.

I have my eye on a few other things but those purchases will have to wait until next market ;-)

BrisStyle Indie Designer Market - tomorrow!

Less than 24hrs to go.  Here is some of the lovely stock that I’ll have with me at the BrisStyle Market tomorrow.

See you there!
