I have to share the gift that my 2 1/2 year old gave me for Mother’s Day.
With help from the wonderful carers at her child care centre she decorated this pot plant. Each part of the painted flower is made from individual fingerprints with the colour scheme being chosen by my little one. Apparently she was very particular about the colours and made the carer wipe one flower off as the colours were not quite right. Wonder where she gets that from…….
I had a lovely Mother’s Day and I hope that all of you did too.

Creating gifts is a great way to experiment with new ideas and techniques.
My eldest daughter is going to a kindy friend’s birthday party this weekend. This event gave me the chance to try out a new way of making cards. I love making cards, playing with fabrics and different coloured cardstock. It is a great way to use up small scraps and to make a dent in my felt stash. Also, as I get bored fairly quickly, I find it the perfect way to re-energise and re-focus on the mundane craft tasks.
I am chuffed with how this card turned out and am now inspired to produce a series of ‘number’ cards to sell. Watch this space!

Today I have been hard at work updating my madeit.com.au store. I have listed some children’s t-shirts with applique details. The t-shirts are 100% organic cotton and come from a supplier who manufactures in Australia using workers paid a fair wage. The cotton is wonderfully soft - just perfect for new skin. So good for everyone! I have also tweaked some of the boring stuff, like postage. Stop by when you get a chance.
We are enjoying a sunny weekend in QLD and have been lucky enough to catch up with good friends. Hope that the sun is shining on you too, whichever corner of the globe you happen to be in.
