These are examples of my latest bag experiment. They are designed as shopping bags and are made from old nylon curtains, a nylon doona cover (imagine that on a hot night!) and even a nylon dress (see previous comment re: doona cover). They are sewn up with the overlocker and then the handles are hemmed with a straight stitch. Quick and easy - my type of sewing

These are three bags that I have made as a Christmas order for a friend. She wanted bags that could be used to carry goodies home from the markets. I used some fantastic IKEA drill fabric and the handles are a synthetic webbing. The bags aren’t lined but the seams are overlocked and the fabric is sturdy enough to withstand heavy usage. It was nice to make some adult bags again.

I am finishing off the Christmas gifts for the child care workers who look after my kids. I have made up card packs (see earlier post) and have also made up little boxes with either drawing pins or magnets in them. I have attached buttons from my stash to brighten them up. They look so good I wil be making some for myself.
Not many sewing days until Christmas. Better get back to it!
